The upcoming 15-inch RedmiBook Pro laptops from Xiaomi are now expected to launch on February 25 together with the K40 smartphones. Xiaomi has been constantly releasing small teasers with particular features for the new laptops over the past month, and it looks like there will also be a refreshed 14-inch version with Ryzen 5000 APUs.
As previously revealed in the first teasers and Geekbench leaks, the RedmiBook Pro 15 models will be powered by Intel’s Tiger Lake-H35 CPUs, while the 15S series will come with AMD Ryzen 5000H processors. Both variants will feature light and slim aluminum chassis, as well as backlit keyboards, ports like USB-C (presumably Thunderbolt 4 for Intel) and full size HDMI, plus a webcam. There will be 8 GB and 16 GB RAM options, and the Intel versions are apparently getting Nvidia MX450 dGPUs, although it is still unclear if the AMD variants will benefit from any dGPUs.
For the Intel variants, Xiaomi plans to include processor options like the Core i5-11300H and i7-11370H, which are both quad-core / octa-thread models with very similar performance according to Geekbench, so the value proposition does not really make sense. On the other hand, the AMD variants are probably better in this regard, as they offer options like the Ryzen 5 5600H and the Ryzen 7 5800H.
We also know from previous Geekbench leaks that Xiaomi intends to release refreshed RedmiBook Pro 14S laptops with the rebranded Ryzen 7 5700U 15 W APUs. The Intel versions with Ice Lake ULV processor might also get refreshed with Tiger Lake-U processors.
