New Xiaomi RedmiBook 14 II and RedmiBook 16 versions launched: Up to an Intel Core i7-1065G7, an NVIDIA GeForce MX350 GPU and 16 GB of RAM from ~US$670
Xiaomi launched the RedmiBook 16 in May, with the RedmiBook 13 and RedmiBook 14 II joining the 16-inch laptop too. While these devices featured AMD Ryzen 4000 Renoir processors, Xiaomi has now released Intel editions of the RedmiBook 14 II and RedmiBook 16. The two devices share the same chassis as their AMD counterparts. We are currently in the process of reviewing the RedmiBook 16, but you can read our initial thoughts on the Ryzen 5 4500U model here.
The Intel versions of the RedmiBook 14 II and RedmiBook 16 come with a Core i5-1035G1 or Core i7-1065G7 processor. These chips are based on Intel's 10 nm Ice Lake architecture and have four cores. However, the Core i7-1065G7 includes a superior GPU. Both offer an NVIDIA GeForce MX350 GPU too though, albeit the 2 GB edition.
Everything else about the Intel versions of the RedmiBook 14 II and RedmiBook 16 remains identical to their Ryzen counterparts. As the screenshot below demonstrates, both have 16 GB of RAM, 512 GB of storage and the same battery capacities as their AMD counterparts among other shared similarities.
Xiaomi has already started a pre-sale for the two devices, with a wider launch occurring on July 15. The RedmiBook 14 II starts at CNY 4,699 (~US$670) for the Core i5 model, with the equivalent RedmiBook 16 coming in at CNY 4,999 (~US$713). Xiaomi has announced that the Core i7 version of the latter will cost CNY 5,699 (~US$813), but is yet to confirm the price of the corresponding RedmiBook 14 II SKU. Nonetheless, the prices that Xiaomi has announced so far put the Intel editions way above what it charges for the AMD versions.
