The Xiaomi Mi Notebook Pro 15 Ryzen Edition laptop for 2021 has made a first appearance on one of the company’s official Weibo accounts. The promo image announcing the upcoming device has focused on the fact that Xiaomi has said “yes” to AMD and will be incorporating a Ryzen 5000 series processor inside the Mi Notebook Pro 15. Which chip has been chosen is yet to be revealed, although there is a reasonable chance it will be the Ryzen 7 5800H.
Back in February we reported about the RedmiBook Pro 15/S laptops that featured AMD chips in the forms of the Ryzen 5 5600H and Ryzen 7 5800H. In comparison, the Xiaomi Mi Notebook Pro 15 will be seen as more of a flagship laptop, so it seems likely the Ryzen Edition will sport an APU such as the Ryzen 7 5800H. In addition, a Chinese-language source has mentioned the inclusion of an 8-core, 16-thread Zen 3 chip in this 2021 Mi Notebook Pro 15 Ryzen Edition laptop.
It’s also probable that the Ryzen version of the Mi Notebook Pro 15 laptop will feature similar specs to the Tiger Lake model that was released in March. This would mean a 3.5K OLED screen, 16 GB RAM, and a 512 GB SSD should be among the offerings, and Xiaomi has revealed that the Ryzen Edition Pro 15 will have a thin and light laptop design. Presale in China begins on May 24 with an official launch taking place on June 1.
