Lenovo's Ryzen lineup is growing. Today, Lenovo has announced two new AMD Ryzen 4000 ThinkPads, as ThinkPad E14 and ThinkPad E15 will be available with Renoir as well.
E14 and E15 originally entered the market around the start of 2020, but only with Intel processors. Their predecessors were available with AMD CPUs as well, so it was only a matter of time until the new E ThinkPads would come out with Ryzen 4000 chips.
Like the Intel versions, the AMD E14 and E15 both have the new redesigned chassis that is thinner and more compact. This smaller design comes at the cost of one of the RAM slots, as the maximum amount of RAM decreases from 64 to 32 GB. Also, since there is only a single RAM slot, the memory does only run in single-channel mode.
We have already reviewed the ThinkPad E14 and ThinkPad E15 with Intel processors. We tested the E14 with the integrated GPU and the E15 with the dedicated GPU. The cooling system of the AMD E15 and E14 will probably match the iGPU version. The fastest processor featured in the E ThinkPads will be the Ryzen 7 4700U.
ThinkPad E14 and E15 will be available in June for a starting price of $639 in the US.
