Xiaomi hinted at a version of the Scooter Pro 2 designed in collaboration with the Formula 1 team Mercedes-AMG Petronas during this product's original launch back in 2020. Now, it has revealed when, where and how some European customers might get their hands on this new personal-mobility accessory.
The new special iteration of the pre-existing electric vehicle has the same aerospace-grade aluminum chassis with 8.5-inch pneumatic tires as the 'standard' Electric Scooter Pro 2. However, it has been re-styled to match this motorsport outfit's racing livery.
Nevertheless, it still has the 45 kilometer (km) range as the "original" Pro 2, as well as a 474 watt-hour (Wh) battery. It can still be controlled via Bluetooth using the Mi Home app, and has a built-in display besides. However, its price has been set at no less than €799 (~US$943), as opposed to €499 (~$589) for the normal edition.
Furthermore, it has been set to German road-legal specs, which means it runs at 20km per hour (km/h) on a 300 watt (W) motor, whereas even standard units can go at up to 25km/h and 600W respectively in other markets.
Nevertheless, fans who might still be interested in AMG-ing all the things can buy one through either Germany's Xiaomi Store, the carrier Deutsche Telekom, or the retailers MediaMarkt, Saturn or Amazon from September 24, 2021.
