Realme confirms a launch for the GT Neo2 as rumors of a high-end branding collaboration emerge ↺
Realme fans who bought the first-gen GT Neo in 2021 could hardly have guessed the OEM would announce a second generation for the Android smartphone within the same year. Nevertheless, the company has now affirmed that this is exactly what is happening.
Then again, it might be more accurate to say the upcoming GT Neo2 is more of a refresh with a different processor - the Qualcomm Snapdragon 870 - rather than the Dimensity 1200 of its immediate successor, although the two might share some important upper-mid-range specs. On that note, Realme is now rumored to have secured an automotive household name for a co-branded, potentially special, edition of this phone.
The BBK Electronics subsidiary's take on this clearly apparent trend involves Mercedes' AMG group as a partner in unveiling the GT Neo2. Accordingly, the device's current rumored design has been spotted done up in the brand's signature green and black livery.
This version of the GT Neo2 may be confirmed during its launch, now set for September 22, 2021 at 14:00 Beijing time (08:00 CET). On that note, there is no mention of an international launch for the phone to date, although hints that it might do so re-branded as the OnePlus 9RT do currently abound.
