Observers in the tech space are surprised, as it is unusual for Samsung to publish an official press release on an upcoming software update. In recent times, the individual improvements have not even been listed in the changelog, so it is thus obviously important for Samsung to have to point out that users of a Galaxy S24, Galaxy S24+ and Galaxy S24 Ultra can expect significant quality improvements in the near future.
These are likely to affect the camera in particular, as a leaker indicated a few days ago. Specifically, the "camera experience" is said to have been improved overall and central camera functions optimized. Upgrades in the areas of zoom functions, night mode or low-light photography and video recording are mentioned, for example. Greater customization of the display to one's individual needs is also reportedly on the cards.
The 'Vividness' slider previously hinted at by a leaker will be included in the extended display options (see image below). This means that the colour intensity on the new displays of the Galaxy S24 series, which many have criticized as being too pale, can be adjusted to the levels familiar from the predecessors, even if Samsung emphasizes that the lower values are "more correct". It remains unclear whether the other problem areas complained about by users or the specific Exynos problems have been addressed. According to the press release, the update will be rolled out in February.
