DxOMark recently tested the display of the most expensive smartphone in the Samsung Galaxy S24 series, the S24 Ultra. It currently stands at the top position of the ranking. The team has now published the results of the cheapest phone in the lineup and ranked it better than the much more expensive iPhone 15 Pro Max.

The test results from DxOMark are a good starting point for researching your next smartphone, especially if you want to get one with a high-quality display and good camera performance. On the note of display, the team has recently tested the Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra (curr. $1,300 on Amazon) and put it in the topmost position in the current ranking with an overall score of 155 points.

But that was expected, as Samsung is the most prominent display manufacturer and supplier, ahead of LG Display, BOE, and Tianma. So, you wouldn't be wrong to say that Samsung's expertise gives the recently released Galaxy S24 series an advantage in display performance.

That becomes more apparent when you consider the display of the cheapest phone Samsung has in the Galaxy S24 series. DxOMark has published the display test results of the device, and the standard S24 (curr. $799.99 on Amazon) achieved a very close score to the expensive S24 Ultra.

To be specific, the standard Samsung Galaxy S24 got an overall score of 154 points, beating the most expensive phone Apple currently has to offer. For context, the iPhone 15 Pro Max (starts at $1199.99) got an overall score of 149 points in DxOMark's test.

What's more interesting is that the display of the cheaper model scores better than the S24 Ultra in Touch and Readability tests. The standard Galaxy S24 is the current leader in these two factors, achieving 170 and 163 points, respectively. Now, while it beats the iPhone 15 Pro Max, you need to consider that the score difference isn't much.

So, it isn't like you won't get a good viewing experience if you pick the expensive iPhone over the cheaper Samsung Galaxy S24. It's also worth noting that the S24 Plus has an overall score similar to the standard model. The only difference is in the Artifacts test score.
