Those who have just gotten through their visit to MWC 2025 might have done so unaware that one of their fellow attendees might have been the prolific leaker Digital Chat Station (DCS) - or someone working with the habitually Weibo-based tipster, at least.
Either way, the famous account has gotten hold of a photo that suggests Meizu let its next-gen flagship smartphone out into the wild during the show ahead of its formal launch. DCS has posted an image with the OEM's "AI Lights up a Better Life" campaign material in the background, although the 2 mobile devices in the foreground might be of even more interest.
One is ostensibly the 21 Pro, while the other is of a similar size and design, yet has a very different camera hump.
It has a large, centrally-mounted monolithic shape, as opposed to the individual triple lens rings and matching RBG ring-flash of its alleged predecessor.
The apparent design upgrade is finished with a prominent silver octagonal surround, suggesting that Meizu might want to challenge the Huawei Mate 70 RS Ultimate rather than the Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra in 2025.
DSC asserts that the new camera hump still contains 3 sensors and a ring-flash; it is currently impossible to determine whether it might also hold a periscope zoom lens.
The 22 Pro is also thought to integrate DeepSeek AI and to join the battery revolution with a ~6,000mAh capacity. Not much else is known or suspected about its specs to date.
