Tecno Pova 6 emerges as fast-charging 6,000mAh smartphone with Ultra-Slim Bezel display
The Pova 6 Pro has now successfully debuted as Tecno's first-ever Dolby Atmos-enabled Android smartphone; now, it seems it is about to be joined on the market by its vanilla counterpart.
It has been certified as the LI7 (whereas the Pro is the LI9) by Thaliand's NBTC, and is also identified as the plain Pova 6 by Malaysia's SIRIM and the Google Play Console.
That leak also seems to put the device's front panel on show which, while not activated, seems to have the same all-around ~2.5D effect as the 6 Pro, developed by Tecno to keep the series flagship's bezels at a consistent 1.3 millimeters (mm).
The 6 Pro also pairs Tecno's latest 70W Ultra Fast Charging technology with a potentially crowd-pleasing 6,000mAh battery - as will the Pova 6, according to the FCC. Then again, the OEM apparently intends to replace the former's relatively up-to-date Dimensity 6080 SoC with the MediaTek MT6789V/CD Helio G99 in the latter.
Accordingly, the 6 - which has leaked with 8GB of RAM compared to up to 12GB in the Pro - might well owe its impending vanilla status to a lack of 5G later in 2024. Nevertheless, it will be interesting to see if it, too, will debut with a Nothing-baiting Dynamic-Light Effect splash-proof chassis.
