The Tecno Pova 6 Pro arrives with a polarising design, 108 MP camera and Dimensity 6080 SoC
Tecno’s latest smartphone, the Pova 6 Pro, seemingly continues to target gaming enthusiasts on a budget - A fact that can clearly be inferred from very unusual looking design that screams gamer vibes, along with a friendly price tag of around of US$229 - US$269, with exact prices varying by region.
The phone is powered by a MediaTek Dimensity 6080 octa-core SoC which was announced in June 2023; accompanied by either 8 or 12 GB of RAM. For its GPU department, the SoC features the almost 3-year old Mali-G57 GPU which performs similarly to the Adreno 618 found in the Snapdragon 730. Its storage options include up to 256 GB internal capacity.
With a 6.78-inch FHD+ AMOLED display having a refresh rate of 120 Hz, the Pova 6 Pro ensures smooth visuals during games as well as multimedia consumption. The device comes with a large battery of 6,000 mAh, sizeably larger than that of its predecessor, supporting fast charging at up to 70 W and reverse charging at up to 10 W.
On the design part, Pova 6 pro introduces the 'Dynamic-Tech' design that comes with a semi-transparent back available in either Meteorite Grey or Comet Green colors only. This design has lithography precision texture and has, what Tecno calls the 'Dynamic-Light Effect' including 210 LEDs and 9 lighting modes along with 101 user defined effects to pick from.
The camera set-up includes a 108 MP primary lens supporting max zoom at 3x (digital zoom up to 10x), a 2 MP depth sensor, a rear ‘AI’ cam and a 32 MP selfie camera with dual-tone LED flash.
