Cybertruck durability tested when it gets rear-ended by RAM as thieves fail to shatter its Armor Glass windows

Tesla's shatter-resistant Armor Glass windows can not only withstand a baseball flying at 70 MPH or provide "outer space" level of noise isolation, but they are also the last barrier before breaking and entering in the electric pickup. The Cybertruck fares pretty well in accidents, too.

The Cybertruck's weight increase coming with Elon Musk's choice of stainless steel material for the body and armored glass for the windows presented many challenges for Tesla engineers during its development phase.

The resulting "bulletproof" body and shatter-resistant glass, however, have now proved their mettle beyond publicity stunts like shotgun-testing the Cybertruck, or trying to break its windows with a steel ball to recreate Elon Musk's announcement fail.

Theft-proof Cybertruck

The Cybertruck's side HW4 cam has caught a thief trying to cut and shatter the Armor Glass windows to no avail. They climb and jump on top of the Cybertruck to try the same feat with no success, either, then drive off frustrated.

Shatter-resistant indeed, just as Tesla advertises in its Cybertruck promo, though replacing those windows and panoramic roof would probably cost way more than what the thief would've gotten from inside the electric pickup.

Cybertruck rammed by other pickup

Another example that raises the Cybertruck's tough image and durability street cred is rear-ending it by a RAM truck. The heavy gas-powered pickup apparently slammed into the even heavier electric truck while the RAM's driver was looking at their phone.

As a result, the Cybertruck's tailgate just got the RAM's grill markings, but was still operational, while the ICE truck's crumple zones worked as advertised while its front got smashed up pretty badly.

The Cybertruck's driver and passengers said that they barely felt the hit and the real pain would probably be waiting on any replacement parts after covering just 450 miles in their shiny new Cybertruck.
