Deal | Samsung Odyssey Ark 2nd Gen 55-inch gaming monitor drops to record-low price

During GamesCom 2023, Samsung showcased the brand-new Odyssey Ark 2nd Gen gaming monitor. As we mentioned in our launch coverage, this curved screen monitor brought only a few changes to the table. So, the $1,200 price difference from the 1st Gen model during the debut didn't really make it seem attractive.

But, with this deal, the Samsung Odyssey Ark 2nd Gen is now offering more value than it did at launch. It has brought the gaming monitor down to $1,999.99 on Amazon and Best Buy, which is also the all-time low price for the unit.

As for the main highlights, the 2nd Gen Odyssey Ark curved screen monitor has three HDMI ports and one DisplayPort. It can take input from four different devices and output all four simultaneously. This feature basically allows you to enjoy a multi-monitor experience on a single display.

In addition, the newer Samsung Odyssey Ark gaming monitor has a KVM switch. It allows users to control multiple connected input devices with one keyboard and mouse set. Besides these two, the other features of the 2nd Gen product are the same as the original model.

That means it still comes with a VA panel, which is known for offering better contrast ratios than the IPS panels but has lower color accuracy. But the good part is that the 1000R curvature of the screen does put you in the center, offering an immersive viewing experience.

Moreover, the 2023 Samsung Odyssey Ark gaming monitor has the same 165 Hz refresh rate as the 1st Gen model. However, this refresh rate is okay for a 4K display, as getting 100+ FPS in high settings on this resolution requires beefed-up systems.
