Nothing Phone (2a) design officially teased as leaker disavows earlier alleged promotional image
While Nothing still remains quiet about much of its next smartphone, it has now begun hinting at a few design elements. In the process, the company also discredited an alleged promotional shot shared earlier this week by @OnLeaks, albeit without acknowledging the latter's disclosure. Unsurprisingly, the same leaker has since disavowed their earlier post:
Sooo... Seems like my #Nothing Phone 2a leak was wrong because...
THIS actually ISN'T the #NothingPhone2a! (very fake look through non official press render) Sorry...
While @OnLeaks' alleged promotional shot showed the Phone (2a) with a subtly curved back panel, Nothing's teaser implies that the device will maintain the company's existing design language. Thus, the Nothing Phone (2a) has a flat back panel, possibly a translucent one at that, as well as a chamfered mid-frame. Additionally, the handset also appears to carry over the white colourway in which Nothing sells the Phone (1) and Phone (2) (curr. $689 on Amazon).
If earlier hands-on photo leaks are accurate, then the Phone (2a) will adopt a centrally mounted rear-facing camera housing in a departure from Nothing's other two smartphones. Meanwhile, other rumours point towards specifications like a MediaTek Dimensity 7200 chipset, a 120 Hz AMOLED Display and various high-megapixel cameras. Nothing will present the Phone (2a) later this month during MWC 2024, confirmation of which the company provided late last year.
