Recent reports claim Samsung will equip the next-gen Galaxy S24 Ultra with a titanium frame, essentially following in Apple's footsteps with the iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max set to use the same material. It appears, however, that Samsung may not be the first Android OEM to follow that trend.
In a seemingly deleted Weibo post by Ice Universe, the leaker claims the Xiaomi 14 Pro will be the first Android device to sport a titanium frame, beating the Galaxy S24 Ultra to the punch. Of course, that claim is inaccurate, as devices like the Essential PH-1 and luxury phones from brands like Vertu already sported titanium frames years ago.
Either way, it seems the Xiaomi 14 Pro will be the first of many in the new wave. While all Galaxy S24 Ultra units can be expected to feature titanium frames, it appears Xiaomi will offer the material in a specific version of the Xiaomi 14 Pro, with standard models likely to be built with aluminum. The titanium version of the Xiaomi 14 Pro can, of course, be expected to be more expensive than the standard variant, as titanium is a pricier, more exotic material.
