AYA NEO AIR 1S is launching as company's next gaming handheld
AYA NEO has now revealed the launch date for the AIR 1S, a gaming handheld that it first previewed a few days ago. Surprisingly, the company is not waiting around to bring the AIR 1S to market, as it has done with the Pocket AIR and KUN. Instead, AYA NEO plans to open AIR 1S pre-orders before the end of the week.
Specifically, AYA NEO will start selling the gaming handheld on July 9 at 06:30 UTC. Unusually, the company has not offered any price indications yet, although we suspect it will do so before Sunday's launch. However, the recent releases of GEEK 1S and AYA NEO 2S suggest that the AIR 1S will start for about as much as the Ryzen 7 6800U version of the AIR Plus.
In fact, AYA NEO set GEEK 1S Early Bird pricing at US$50 less than the original GEEK for SKUs with 512 GB of storage. The AIR 1S will combine a 5.5-inch and 1080p OLED display with an AMD Ryzen 7 7840U APU and a 38 Wh battery. According to the company's Indiegogo preview campaign page, the AIR 1S will weigh 450 g in its 'Standard Edition' trim and will taper to 21 mm at its thinnest point. Like other recent AYA NEO gaming handhelds, the AIR 1S will feature hall effect triggers and joysticks too, as well as an x-axis linear motor for precise haptics.
