Awful RTX 4060 launch day sales reported as the GPU records a 10% price drop in Spain within a week of release
It appears that the GeForce RTX 4060 is a bit of a miss for NVIDIA. After unfavorable reviews due to an unimpressive generational improvement over the RTX 3060, it seems that the GPU is already selling for less than its €335 MSRP in Spain.
The report comes to us courtesy of VideoCardz which suggests that the RTX 4060 was going for €299.95 at Spanish retailer CoolMod. The specific RTX 4060 that was on sale was the Inno3D GeForce RTX 4060 Twin X2 which usually retails for €339.95. That said, the GPU has since returned to its full retail price.
Moreover, we can reasonably expect the RTX 4060 price drops to be a common occurrence as the card doesn’t appear to be an in-demand product. 3DCenter calls the board “possibly one of the worst launches ever” as the GPU reportedly had an abysmal opening day on the German retailer MindFactory with only 10 units sold. As a comparison, the retailer sold 30 and 30-40 units of the RTX 4060 Ti and the RX 7600 respectively per 3DCenter’s research.
All in all, it seems like the RTX 4060 has failed to excite consumers who were hoping for a genuinely impressive mainstream GPU. It remains to be seen whether NVIDIA takes this feedback and permanently reduces the price of the card to make it a more enticing option.
