Lenovo revealed the Gen 8 Legion Pro 7i at CES 2023 with the latest Intel Raptor Lake CPUs and NVIDIA RTX 40 GPUs. The laptop is now enjoying a sizeable US$550.99 off on the US$2,749.99 list price at B&H Photo’s online store. The resulting US$2,199 price of the notebook represents a 20% discount (via slickdeals).
The Gen 8 Lenovo Legion Pro 7i on offer is a high-end configuration with a 24-core Core i9-13900HX CPU, an RTX 4080 GPU, 32 GB of DDR5-5600 memory, a 1 TB PCIe 4 SSD, and a 16-inch QHD+ display that supports G-SYNC. The display also boasts a 16:10 aspect ratio, a speedy 240 Hz refresh rate, 500 nits of advertised brightness, and 100% coverage of the sRGB gamut.
On paper, the Lenovo Legion Pro 7i looks like a beastly performer. The 24-core Core i9-13900HX is 21% faster than a Core i9-12900HX in the Cinebench R23 Multi Core benchmark and is near the top of our mobile CPU charts. Similarly, the RTX 4080 mobile is an astounding 65% faster than the RTX 3080 mobile in our 3DMark Time Spy Graphics test and is only bested by the RTX 4090 mobile. In other words, the Lenovo Legion Pro 7i packs enough hardware to take full advantage of the 240 Hz display in eSports titles while it is also capable of pushing most modern AAA titles to high frame rates.
All in all, if you are in need of a high-performance gaming laptop with a high refresh rate display and plenty of memory, the US$2,199 Lenovo Legion Pro 7i appears to be a good deal at the currently reduced price.
