Given the GeForce RTX 4060 and RTX 4060 Ti's laughably poor market reception, it would be easy to forget the latter's 16 GB variant. Earlier rumours suggested it would launch sometime in July 2023. Twitter leakers @Zed__Wang and @hongxing2020 have now zeroed in on the exact date.
The Nvidia GeForce RTX 4060 Ti 16 GB variant will hit shelves on July 17 for US$499. One would be wise to wait for a while before committing to a purchase, especially at a time when the 8 GB RTX 4060 Ti got discounted mere weeks after release. Furthermore, the actual price will likely be much higher than US$500 due to the lack of a FE variant.
It'll be interesting to see if the extra VRAM on the GeForce RTX 4060 Ti 16 GB variant offers any tangible performance benefits. It won't be very significant, as the graphics card's primary issue is its underpowered AD106 GPU with 4,352 CUDA cores and a paltry 128-bit memory bus. To make matters worse, one may have to wait until 2025 for the next generation of Nvidia graphics cards, meaning gamers will be stuck with these lackluster offerings for a while.
