AYA NEO has showcased the KUN, a gaming handheld that it first teased in January. Previewed today alongside the Pocket Air, AYA NEO describes the KUN as 'possibly the most powerful Windows handheld ever'. While the company has not revealed how it has achieved this statement, it has already set the bar high with the NEXT II, which will combine Ryzen 7000 APUs with discrete GPUs.
At any rate, AYA NEO explains that the KUN has an 8.4-inch display, making it more of an ONEXPLAYER 2 competitor than an alternative to the Win Max 2. Incidentally, a version of the ONEXPLAYER 2 with the AMD Ryzen 7 7840U is now available globally, which Minixpc sells as the ONEXPLAYER 2 Pro EVA Limited Edition. AYA NEO maintains a candy bar form factor though, allowing AYA NEO to include nearly full-size gamepad buttons and controls.
Reportedly, the KUN will ship with hall-sensing joysticks, hall triggers, an eight-directional d-pad and two touchpads. Moreover, the gaming handheld has three sets of shoulder buttons and will offer Windows Hello authentication via a fingerprint scanner and a front-facing camera. AYA NEO's CEO has previously hinted that the KUN will have a comparatively large battery too, which is likely to also make it heavier than competing gaming handhelds. AYA NEO states that it will bring the KUN to Indiegogo soon, where it should confirm availability, specifications and pricing.
