One-netbook will soon announce a new version of the ONEXPLAYER 2, just two months after it started selling the gaming handheld on its website. To recap, One-netbook launched the ONEXPLAYER 2 in December with an AMD Ryzen 7 6800U APU, an 8.4-inch display and detachable controllers. As we discussed when the device launched, the ONEXPLAYER 2 has a 2.5K native resolution, a 65.5 Wh battery and hall effect joysticks.
While most of the ONEXPLAYER 2 will remain unchanged, One-netbook plans to offer it with an Intel Raptor Lake processor. So far, the company has not confirmed which processor will be available, although it has opened a beta recruitment channel, the details of which it has contained within a Google Docs document. The company has not confirmed when the new model will be available to order yet, either.
Reputedly, One-netbook will offer the new ONEXPLAYER 2 with the Core i7-1370P, Intel's flagship Raptor Lake-P series processor. For reference, the Core i7-1370P has 6 P cores, 8 E cores and 20 threads. Additionally, the processor can boost to 5.2 GHz and has 24 MB L3 cache. While the Core i7-1370P should deliver performance on par with the best AMD APUs, its Iris Xe Graphics G7 iGPU, which has 96 Execution Units (EUs), remains unchanged from Tiger Lake processors. Thus, the existing Ryzen 7 6800U powered model could be a better option for gamers.
