The RedMagic gaming tablet is almost here, with Nubia having scheduled a July 5 launch alongside the RedMagic 8S Pro. Not only has Nubia published various teaser images for its new gaming tablet, but it has also outlined several specifications like a 144 Hz display and the inclusion of a Snapdragon 8 Plus Gen 1 chipset.

Nubia has revealed details about a RedMagic-branded gaming tablet, which it will announce tomorrow alongside the RedMagic 8S Pro. Previously, the company teased the tablet's display design, covered separately. Since then, it has confirmed that the gaming tablet will rely on a 12.1-inch display sourced from BOE.

Additionally, the display is slated to deliver up to 600 nits peak brightness with a 144 Hz refresh rate, a 240 Hz touch sampling rate and 100% DCI-P3 colour space coverage. For some reason, Nubia has not confirmed the panel's resolution yet. However, the mention of '2.5K' and a 16:10 aspect ratio implies a 2,560 x 1,600-pixel native resolution. Moreover, the RedMagic gaming tablet will feature a Snapdragon 8 Plus Gen 1 chipset, which is said to push over 1.37 million points in AnTuTu v10.

While Qualcomm has since moved onto Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipsets, the Snapdragon 8 Plus Gen 1 remains the flagship chipset of choice for tablet manufacturers, except for Samsung and its upcoming Galaxy Tab S9 series. Furthermore, Nubia has complemented the Snapdragon 8 Plus Gen 1 with a 10,000 mAh battery that will support 80 W wired charging. Nubia has not commented on global availability yet, likely making the RedMagic gaming tablet a Chinese exclusive for now.
