A Nintendo Switch 2 user interface (UI) has appeared in a new clip posted by a fan seemingly dedicated to creating next-generation Switch concepts. While there are a few clues to show that this is not the real deal, it has still impressed some because of its fluidity and overall design. Nintendo has yet to confirm any physical details about a Switch 2 or NG Switch console.

The Twitter account behind a Nintendo Switch 2 box concept render and a Joy-Con 2 manual has now provided a short clip of what they have labelled “new UI” along with a hashtag for Nintendo Switch 2. While it is clearly a fan-made effort, the user interface in the clip (posted below) has received some praise for looking vastly different to that of the OG Switch, which unsurprisingly has something of a rather dated-looking UI.

Such fan-made and unofficial concept renders and clips are often based on rumors and leaks, so they help at least create discussion about what could be in the pipeline while everyone waits for Nintendo to actually announce the Switch 2 or whatever console is lurking in the wings. Once again, the Joy-Con 2 are shown with their curious sliding mechanisms, and the console floats in the air as a Super Mario Bros. Wonder game card is dropped into the slot at the top and instantly slides into the UI game library.

Unfortunately, the game is then mislabeled as “Super Mario Wonder”, which helps give the Nintendo Switch UI concept away as a fake. Some purists may also hate the way the UI looks here (keyword: "innovative"), but it does appear updated and quite slick, with the game tiles smoothly placed over some blurred game animation that is running in the background. There are hopes that the Nintendo Switch 2 could be launched in 2024 and may feature a custom Tegra T239 SoC from Nvidia.
