ASUS Tinker Board 3: New single-board computer previewed ahead of release
Earlier this week, ASUS introduced the Tinker V, a RISC-V-based single-board computer (SBC). Also, the company announced the Tinker Board 3, a more conventional ARM-based model. Specifically, the 100 x 100 mm board features the Rockchip RK3568, which integrated four ARM Cortex-A55 cores and a Mali-G52 GPU, a common combination among modern SBCs. Additionally, ASUS includes LPDDR4X RAM, with 2 GB, 4 GB or 8 GB running in dual-channel available.
Moreover, the Tinker Board 3 comes without built-in storage, as well as 32 GB and 64 GB eMMC options. Furthermore, the SBC has a MicroSD card reader, an M.2 2032 E-Key for connecting Bluetooth/Wi-Fi modems and an M.2 3042/3052 B-Key for 4G/5G modems. As such, ASUS also includes a SIM card slot for making use of the latter optional modem.
Elsewhere, the Tinker Board 3 has HDMI twin USB 2.0 and USB 3.2 Gen1 Type-A ports, a single USB 3.2 Gen1 Type-C connection, 3.5 mm audio, two RJ45 ports and a 40-pin GPIO header. ASUS adds that the Tinker Board 3 will be compatible with Android 12 and Debian too. Unfortunately, the company has not confirmed pricing or availability yet.
