MINISFORUM has started selling the UM773 Lite globally. Equipped with the AMD Ryzen 7 7735HS, a Zen 3+ APU, the UM773 Lite also supports DDR5 SO-DIMM, PCIe 4.0 SSDs and plenty of ports. Prices start at US$409 as a barebones unit and rise to US$789 with 64 GB RAM and a 2 TB SSD.

MINISFORUM has introduced the UM773 Lite, a nominally worse version of the Venus UM773 that the company already sells in China. As far as we can tell, MINISFORUM has made two changes from the UM773 to the UM773 Lite, which also means that the latter shares plenty of similarities with the Venus UM690. Hence, the UM773 Lite measures 128 x 128 x 48 mm, has a relatively low-key design, an accompanying stand and a pair of mounting holes.

Additionally, MINISFORUM equips the UM773 Lite with the Ryzen 7 7735HS, the same APU found in the Venus UM773. For reference, AMD has created the Ryzen 7 7735HS by rebranding the Ryzen 7 6800HS. Theoretically, a 50 MHz higher boost clock speed and increased TDP should help the Ryzen 7 7735HS deliver better performance than the Ryzen 7 6800HS. However, our tests suggest that a 19 W higher TDP and 50 MHz clock speed boost yield a 5% performance improvement from the Ryzen 7 6800HS. The UM773 Lite ships with the following I/O:

  • 1x 2.5 Gigabit Ethernet
  • 1x 3.5 mm jack
  • 1x DC power input
  • 2x HDMI
  • 2x USB 2.0 Type-A
  • 2x USB 3.2 Gen2 Type-A
  • 1x USB Type-C (data only)
  • 1x USB4 (40 Gbps)

In other words, MINISFORUM has swapped two of the four USB 3.2 Gen2 Type-A ports found in the Venus UM773 and Venus UM690 for twin USB 2.0 Type-A connections. Also, MINISFORUM does not refer to the USB Type-C port in the UM773 Lite as supporting the USB 3.2 Gen2 standard. The port remains capable of utilising 10 Gbps bandwidth though, mirroring the Venus UM773 and Venus UM690. Regardless, the UM773 Lite is already orderable in five configurations and should start shipping at the end of March. More details can be found on MINISFORUM's website; the UM773 Lite's launch configurations are as follows:

  • Barebones - US$409 (US$509 MSRP)
  • 16 GB DDR5 SO-DIMM RAM & 512 GB M.2 2280 PCIe 4.0 SSD - US$559 (US$689 MSRP)
  • 32 GB DDR5 SO-DIMM RAM & 512 GB M.2 2280 PCIe 4.0 SSD - US$619 (US$769 MSRP)
  • 32 GB DDR5 SO-DIMM RAM & 1 TB M.2 2280 PCIe 4.0 SSD - US$659 (US$819 MSRP)
  • 64 GB DDR5 SO-DIMM RAM & 1 TB M.2 2280 PCIe 4.0 SSD - US$789 (US$979 MSRP)
