MINISFORUM Venus UM773 announced with AMD Ryzen 7 7735HS APU
MINISFORUM has introduced the Venus UM773, effectively a new version of the Venus UM690. For reference, the latter relies on the AMD Ryzen 9 6900HX, a 45 W APU with eight Zen 3+ clocked at 4.9 GHz. In comparison, MINISFORUM has equipped the Venus UM773 with the Ryzen 7 7735HS, which one may expect to be an upgrade in some senses over the Ryzen 9 6900HX. However, the opposite is the case, with no discernable improvements from the Ryzen 9 6900HX.
Specifically, the Ryzen 7 7735HS utilises the same volume of Zen 3+ CPU cores as the Ryzen 9 6900HX, as well as an identical Radeon 680M iGPU. The Ryzen 7 7735HS has a 10 W lower TDP than the Ryzen 9 6900HX though, plus lower-clocked CPU and GPU cores. The UM773 carries over its predecessor's I/O too, with four USB 3.2 Gen2 Type-A ports, a 2.5 Gigabit Ethernet connection, two HDMI ports and two USB Type-C ports.
So far, MINISFORUM has only listed the Venus UM773 on JD.com. Pricing and availability has not been revealed yet, so we suspect the machine could be a way off a global release. While MINISFORUM presents the Venus UM773 as a barebones unit on JD.com, typically the company sells preconfigured SKUs with various RAM and storage options too.
