Mechrevo is pre-selling laptops with AMD Ryzen 7 7735H APUs and RTX 4060 dGPUs for US$875
Nvidia’s high-end RTX 4000 mobile GPU solutions are now available at quite spicy prices, although Asus is forcing the market with unbeatable prices for the RTX 4080 dGPU models. The lower-mid and mid-range RTX 4000 laptop GPUs usually represent the bulk of the sales, yet these are expected to hit the market on February 22 for an MSRP of at least US$999. Gone seem the days when a lower-mid-range x060 model could be had for quite a bit under US$1,000. Hopefully Asus or some other established OEM could force prices in this sector as well, but, until then, Chinese emergent OEMs remain the best bet. Mechrevo, for instance, is currently pre-selling RTX 4060 laptops for ~US$875.
For that price, Mechrevo is equipping the 16K gaming laptop with an AMD Ryzen 7 7735H featuring 8x Zen3+ cores and 16x threads. Additionally, RAM capacity is set to 16 GB DDR5-4800 and the storage solution includes a 512 GB NVMe SSD (plus a vacant M.2 slot). The RTX 4060 dGPU comes with 8 GB of GDDR6 and a maximum TDP of 140 W.
OEMs usually sacrifice the quality of the screen at these price points, but the specs presented by Mechrevo seem decent, with a 16-inch diagonal, 16:10 aspect ratio, 2560 x 1600 resolution, 165 Hz refresh rate and 100% sRGB color gamut. Port selection includes 1x USB-C 3.2 Gen 2, 2x USB-A 3.2 Gen 1, 1x USB 2.0, mini-DP and HDMI 2.1 video outputs, audio and GbE jacks, plus an SD card reader. Wireless connectivity is ensured via a Wi-Fi 6E + BT 5.2 card.
Mechrevo also offers an RTX 4050 version for ~US$800. Alternatively, there is an Intel i5-12450H version with RTX 4050 for around the same price.
