Intel has launched the NUC 13 Pro, three months after teasing a prototype of the mini-PC. As expected, the NUC 13 Pro, codenamed Arena Canyon, relies on the Raptor Lake-P architecture. Specifically, the NUC 13 Pro series utilises Raptor Lake-P processors with up to 28 W TDPs and 64 W PL2. For reference, the mini-PC measures 117 x 112 mm and is 37 or 54 mm thick, depending on the model chosen.
According to Intel, the NUC 13 Pro utilises 75% post-consumer recycled (PCR) plastic. Like other NUC mini-PCs, the thicker model contains enough space for a 2.5-inch HDD or SSD. Both sizes support M.2 2280 PCIe 4.0 SSDs though, as well as up to 64 GB of DDR4-3200 RAM. Intel will offer the NUC 13 Pro with the Core i3-1315U, Core i5-1340P, Core i5-1350P, Core i7-1360P or Core i7-1370P, plus various vPro options.
While Intel states that the Core i7-1370P has a 40 W TDP (PL1), the NUC 13 Pro's cooling system should be sufficient to handle its 64 W PL2 without throttling. Alternatively, the mini-PC can reduce the TDP to 20 W to reduce fan noise. As the images below show, the NUC 13 Pro feature the following ports:
- 1x 2.5 GbE Ethernet port (Intel i226-LM)
- 1x 3.5 mm audio jack
- 2x HDMI 2.1
- 2x Thunderbolt 4
- 1x USB 2.0 Type-A
- 3x USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-A
Currently, the NUC 13 Pro can be ordered from SimplyNUC, where prices start at €619, excluding VAT. Please note that this starting price includes a Core i5-1340P processor, 4 GB RAM and a 256 GB SSD. Also, there are €799 options with the Core i7-1360P, 4 GB RAM and 4 GB RAM. Full pricing and availability is unknown for now, though.
