ASRock is updating the 4X4 BOX mini PC lineup with new models that support the latest Ryzen 7000U mobile processors with Zen 3+ cores. While the processors might not be seen as a major upgrade over the existing Ryzen 5000 with Zen 3 cores, the new 4x4 BOX-7000/D5 mini PCs still represent a significant step forward as they are among the first AMD-powered devices to support no less than two USB4 ports.
Additionally, the new models bring support for the faster DDR5 standard with two SO-DIMM slots that allow for up to 64 GB of DDR5-4800 RAM. Processor options include the Ryzen 7 7735U with 8 cores / 16 threads + RDNA2 Radeon 680M iGPU and the Ryzen 5 7535U with 6 cores / 12 threads + RDNA 2 Radeon 660M. The storage side features a SATA 3 slot for compatible HDDs and SDDs, as well as an M.2 2280 slot for a PCIe 4.0 X4 NVme SSD.
Apart from the dual USB4 connectors, the port selection also includes HDMI 2.1 and DP 1.4 video outs for a total of 4x 4K outputs, 1x USB-A 3.2 Gen 2, 2x USB 2.0, a headphone jack and dual LAN jacks (2.5 GbE + 1 GbE). Wireless connectivity is ensured via the included M.2 module with Wi-Fi 6E and Bluetooth 5.2 support. The motherboard comes with a Realtek ALC233 HD Audio codec and a TPM 2.0 chip. System chassis measures 110.0 x 117.5 x 47.85mm.
Price and availability info will be provided at a later date.
