MagyarMINISFORUM releases the Ryzen 9 5900HX-driven UM590 mini PC
A few months after the introduction of the Neptune HX90G and the EliteMini HX90 mini PCs, MINISFORUM is back to using the AMD Ryzen 9 5900HX processor once again. This time, AMD's Zen 3 chip comes alongside an integrated graphics solution instead of the AMD Radeon RX 6600M used by the aforementioned mini PC.
The new MINISFORUM UM590 can be pre-ordered in the following configurations (these prices will go up later, as usual):
- Barebone: US$459
- 16/512 GB: US$569
- 32/512 GB: US$619
- 64/512 GB: US$739
In addition to the AMD Ryzen 9 5900HX processor, the list of specs and features that applies to all UM590 configurations includes multiple connectivity options (two USB 3.2, two USB 2.0, two HDMI 4K@60Hz, RJ45 Gigabit, 3.5 mm audio jack, one USB-C for data, and one USB-C DisplayPort) and two storage slots: one M.2 2280 PCIe SSD and one 2.5-inch SATA HDD (SATA 3.0 6.0Gb/s 7mm). The versions that come with pre-installed storage also feature Windows 11 Pro.
All the hardware setups mentioned earlier can be accompanied by power adapters for US, EU, AU, UK, or Japan, as needed. Shipments are scheduled to start in December. Later this month, MINISFORUM will unveil the UM690, a unit powered by the AMD Ryzen 9 6900HX processor and allegedly the first mini PC with USB 4.

MINISFORUM Announce Ryzen9 5900HX Mini PC UM590 Today
Minisforum, the professional mini PC manufacturer, is going to launch two new mini PCs shortly. The first one will be the EliteMini UM590 that comes with a Ryzen 9 5900HX CPU and Radeon graphics to provide powerful performance for your everyday tasks. The other one will be the UM690 that comes with Ryzen 9 6900HX, which is also the first mini PC in the world with USB4 port. It will be announced later this month.
The AMD Ryzen 9 5900HX is a processor based on the Cezanne generation. It is based on the Zen 3 micro architecture. Zen 3 brings higher instructions per clock, lower latency and improved efficiency over Zen 2 processors. The Ryzen 9 5900HX packs 8 high performing cores with 16 threads, offering great headroom in both gaming and productivity applications. The Ryzen 9 5900HX reaches a max boost clock of up to 4.6GHz, churning out maximum power whenever needed. The chip is manufactured on the modern 7 nm TSMC process.
The AMD Ryzen 9 5900HX offers some impressive graphics horsepower in its RADEON 8 integrated GPU. This iGPU delivers almost 2 TFLOPS – far exceeding other integrated graphics solutions from the likes of Intel’s UHD Graphics. It has 8 CUs and can goes up to 2100 MHz.
It supports totally up to 64GB dual-channel DDR4-3200MHz memory, also different types of storage expansions—1×M.2 2280 PCIe SSD and 1×2.5 inch SATA HDD Slot (SATA 3.0 6.0Gb/s 7mm). It also comes with Windows 11 pro pre-installed if bought with storage.
