Chuwi has launched a new version of the CoreBox, now described as CoreBox 4th. Not only has Chuwi upgraded the mini-PC to Intel's Alder Lake architecture, but it has also introduced LPDDR5 RAM for the CoreBox, as well as support for external graphics card enclosures thanks to Thunderbolt 4 connectivity.

Chuwi has started selling the fourth generation of the CoreBox, appropriately sold as the CoreBox 4th. Available to pre-order now, the mini-PC is only available with the Core i3-1215U, a six-core and eight-thread processor from Intel's Alder Lake-U series. For reference, the Core i3-1215U can boost to 4.4 GHz on its P cores, of which it has two. Additionally, Intel has included four E cores that operate between 0.9-3.3 GHz.

While the UHD Graphics in the Core i3-1215U is a fairly weak graphics solution, the new CoreBox can utilise discrete graphics cards mounted in an external enclosure, thanks to its Thunderbolt 4 port. Alternatively, the port supports fast external storage and functions like a regular USB Type-C port too. Additionally, Chuwi has included 16 GB of LPDDR5 RAM that runs at 4,800 MHz, plus a 512 GB PCIe SSD. Moreover, the mini-PC has space for a 2.5-inch drive, should you wish to add one.

As the image below shows, Chuwi has included dedicated headphone and microphone jacks, along with Gigabit Ethernet, four USB 3.0 Type-A ports, a DisplayPort and an HDMI 2.0 connection. Currently, the new CoreBox is orderable for US$399 and should ship at the end of November. Please note that Chuwi ships orders from China, meaning that you may incur customs duties and fees if you order from another country.
