AAEON is well known for its mini-PCs, such as the UP 4000. Now, the company has previewed the UP Element i12 Edge, which it bases on the Intel NUC 12 Compute Element. According to AAEON, the device will be available with the Celeron 7305, Core i3-1215U, Core i5-1235U and Core i7-1255U, all 15 W processors from Intel's Alder Lake-U series. Additionally, the UP Element i12 Edge comes with 4 GB, 8 GB, 16 GB or 32 GB of LPDDR5 RAM, depending on the processor chosen.
Similarly, AAEON has included an M.2 2280 slot for NVMe SSDs, as well as a modern AX211 module for up to Wi-Fi 802.11 ax speeds. Separately, the UP Element i12 Edge has three LAN connections, of which two can operate on the 2.5 Gbit standard. Moreover, the machine has DisplayPort 1.4a and HDMI 2.0b ports, plus four USB ports of varying standards. For reference, we have included screenshots of all the device's ports, including its isolated GPIO.
As the company's marketing images show, the UP Element i12 Edge also has a custom case and two antennas for maximising Bluetooth and Wi-Fi connectivity. Currently, AAEON lists the 152 x 125 x 48 mm as 'coming soon'. Unfortunately, it has not provided any pricing yet either, although the device is already listed on its website.
