Seeed Studio previews new reComputer mini-PCs powered by NVIDIA Jetson Orin Nano and Orin NX series
Seeed Studio has introduced new reComputer mini-PCs based on NVIDIA's Jetson Orin Nano series and Orin NX system-on-modules (SoM). According to Seeed Studio, its reComputer J3010 and J3011 utilise the J401 carrier board, which provides the following I/O from the Jetson Orin Nano:
- 1x 40-pin expansion header
- 1x CAN bus
- 1x Fan header
- 1x Gigabit Ethernet
- 1x HDMI video output
- 1x M.2 M-key (NVMe)
- 1x M.2 E-key
- 2x MIPI CSI camera inputs
- 1x Real-time clock (RTC) module
- 4x USB 3.2 Type-A
- 1x USB 2.0 Type-C recovery port
As Seeed Studio's marketing images show, both reComputer models feature an aluminium case and a heatsink to keep the Jetson Orin Nano in check. According to the company, the reComputer J3010 based on the Jetson Orin Nano 4 GB will be priced at US$199, with the 8 GB variant coming in at US$100 more. Currently, the company expects to offer both models during Q1 2023.
By contrast, its Jetson Orin NX-based reComputers should arrive by Q1 2023 at the latest, with the end of 2022 also a possibility. For context, Jetson Orin NX variants should offer 70 TOPS of performance if you opt for the 8 GB variant and 100 TOPS with the 16 GB SoM. In comparison, the Jetson Orin Nano peaks at 40 TOPS with its 8 GB edition. Seeed Studio has not revealed pricing yet for its Jetson Orin NX-based reComputers yet, although we imagine that they will be more expensive than their Jetson Orin Nano counterparts.
