MagyarNeptune HX99G: New MINISFORUM mini-PC previewed with Ryzen 9 6900HX and Radeon RX 6600M combination
PC Watch reports that MINISFORUM will soon introduce a new mini-PC powered by the AMD Ryzen 9 6900HX. While the company announced the Neptune HX90G earlier this year, the website claims that MINISFORUM has the Neptune in the pipeline too. For context, MINISFORUM has only just started selling the Neptune HX90G, which utilises the Ryzen 9 5900HX and a Radeon RX 6600M GPU.
As Liliputing notes, the Neptune HX90G and Neptune HX99G look practically identical. However, MINISFORUM has swapped the Ryzen 9 5900HX for a Ryzen 9 6900HX, a change that should deliver better GPU improvements than CPU performance upgrades. According to our database, the Ryzen 9 6900HX outperforms its predecessor by approximately 6%, despite its reliance on newer Zen 3+ CPU cores, a die shrink and a 300 MHz higher boost clock speed.
The Ryzen 9 6900HX also contains the Radeon 680M, currently AMD’s most powerful integrated GPU. Still, the Radeon 680M managed just over 40% of the Radeon RX 6600M's performance in our gaming benchmarks, which underlines MINISFORUM’s decision to still include the Radeon RX 6600M. Additionally, the Neptune HX99G will launch with up to 32 GB of RAM, 512 GB of storage, plus the following ports:
- 1x 2.5 Gbit Ethernet
- 2x HDMI
- 2x USB 4
- 3x USB 3.1 Type-A
- 1x USB 3.0 Type-C
- 1x USB 3.0 Type-A
Based on the image below, MINISFORUM plans to release the Neptune HX99G within the next month or so for approximately JPY 182,980 (~US$1,316). The Neptune HX99G will be joined by several other mini-PCs in Japan too, such as the NAG6 and the UM690, the latter of which MINISFORUM has already detailed for other markets. Unfortunately, MINISFORUM has not yet confirmed how much the Neptune HX99G will cost globally, nor when it will be available.
