Beelink SEi12 mini PC with 12th gen Intel Core i5-1235U now available for pre-order
Beelink is gearing up for the launch of its first mini PC with an Intel 12th gen Alder Lake-U CPU. The announcement is unsurprising given that the manufacturer already offers a huge lineup of affordable mini PCs featuring both Intel and AMD CPUs.
The upcoming model, called the SEi12, succeeds the SEi11 series which utilize older 11th gen Intel CPUs. Initial SKUs come with the Core i5-1235U alongside a Kingston PCIe4 x4 NVMe SSD and Wi-Fi 6 support. As for the chassis, it will be the first to incorporate a felt cloth on the top surface instead of the usual glossy or matte plastic.
Keep in mind that the Core i5-1235U performs very closely to the Core i7-1165G7 and so users shouldn't expect a huge performance boost between most PCs running on Tiger Lake-U CPUs and the Core i5-1235U.
The chassis otherwise appears identical to the existing SEi11 in port options and overall dimensions. Beelink mini PCs are marketed as much cheaper alternatives to the usual Intel NUC options which often don't come with storage, RAM, or even an operating system. For most home users and HTPC setups, a Beelink mini PC would likely be more than sufficient.
