Beelink GTi8: Intel Core i5-8259U-based mini-PC launches for US$449, but deeper discounts are available
During the summer, Beelink launched the SEi 8, a mini-PC that utilised the Core i5-8279U. Now, the company is offering the GTi8 for US$449 at a supposed discount of US$130. Unlike the SEi 8, the GTi8 has a Core i5-8259U, also a Coffee Lake processor.
Based on our database, the Core i5-8279U delivers marginally better performance than the Core i5-8259U found in the GTi8. Fundamentally, the pair are identical, with four cores, eight threads and a 28 W TDP. Both have Iris Plus Graphics 655 iGPUs, too.
Unsurprisingly, the GTi8 actively cools its processor, along with its dual-channel SO-DIMM RAM and its M.2 SSD. While both are replaceable, Beelink includes 8 GB of DDR4 RAM and a 256 GB SSD for good measure. Additionally, the mini-PC has the following ports, shown below:
- 4x USB 3.0 Type-A
- 2x USB 2.0 Type-A
- 2x USB Type-C
- 2x LAN
- 1x DC-in
- 1x 3.5 mm combo audio jack
- 1x DisplayPort
- 1x HDMI
Incidentally, Beelink has included a fingerprint scanner, as it does with many of its mini-PCs. Currently, Beelink sells the GTi8 through its website and on Amazon US. However, the company is offering a further US$23 discount if you purchase the machine on Amazon US, bringing its price down to US$426. It is unclear when this promotion will end.
