Minisforum recently announced the TH50 Mini, a mini PC set to feature the Tiger Lake i5-11320H. The 35W H-series part is a step up from the Tiger Lake 1135G7 found in older Minisforum Intel builds like the TL50. The i5-11320H's higher TDP allows it to hit and sustain significantly higher clock speeds than the 1135G7, with less power throttling.
The integrated Xe-LP GPU with 80 execution isn't exactly setting performance records, but can deliver a decent 720p/30 FPS experience in current gen AAA games.
In terms of design, the TH50 Mini hews closely to the TL50, but with a few key differences,. There's an additional air intake grill on top for better airflow. This is likely to accommodate the more power-hungry H series processor. The mesh grill on the side has also been redesigned, again likely to enable better airflow.
As a low-profile, low-cost mini PC, the TH50 Mini is best suited to pulling home theater duty. I/O connectivity is decent, with 6 USB ports, a pair of LAN ports, Thunderbolt 4, and HDMI and DisplayPort. If pricing falls in the expected US$500-600 range, the TH50 Mini could make for a great holiday purchase.
