Minisforum is now pre-selling the EliteMini HX90 mini PC with Ryzen 9 5900HX and liquid metal cooling
The Ryzen 9 5900HX mini PC from Minisforum that was teased along with the S500+ model from Morefine a couple of weeks back is now available for pre-sale with a few impressive features rarely seen on pre-built small form-factor PCs.
First of all, the chassis comes with carbon fiber elements in order to ensure sturdiness, increased thermal conductivity and reduce weight. The main structural parts except for the upper lid integrate carbon fiber composite materials. Furthermore, this high-end mini PC model also includes an advanced cooling system with a premium liquid metal compound applied to the CPU. This helps reduce temperatures by at least several degrees compared to regular conductive paste solutions, allowing the smart fan to spin up less frequently and thus offer a quieter system that is only 30 dB loud in full load.
Besides the top-of-the-line Ryzen 9 5900HX laptop APU with integrated Vega 8 iGPU, the barebones version features a motherboard that supports up to 64 GB of dual-channel DDR4-3200 RAM, while the storage component is ensured through 2x 2.5-inch SATA 3 slots and an M.2 2280 PCIe NVMe interface. The Wi-Fi 6 adapter with Bluetooth 5.0 is pre-installed underneath the NVMe SSD and there is a 2.5 Gb Ethernet NIC with jack. Port selection includes 5x USB 3.0 + 1x USB-C connectors, 2x HDMI + 2x DP video outputs each with 4K support, as well as 2x Line In and 2x Mic jacks, plus a clear CMOS button on the front panel.
Minisforum is now applying a generous $100 early bird discount on all EliteMini XH90 variants. The barebones can thus be pre-ordered for $629, but Minisforum also offers some variants with pre-built RAM and storage. The 16 GB RAM + 256 GB NVMe version is priced at $799, while the 16 GB + 512 GB one costs $829, and the 32 GB + 512 GB is listed at $909. All variants are scheduled to ship in mid-September.
