AMD Ryzen 5-powered MINISFORUM DeskMini UM340 starts at US$539

MINISFORUM's latest creation comes with a Ryzen 5 3450U that features Radeon Vega 8 graphics, at least 8/256 GB of memory/storage, and shipments should begin at the end of next month. The prices start at US$539 for the aforementioned configuration and can go up to US$599 for the 16/512 GB variant.

A bit earlier today, I got news regarding a new piece of hardware that has joined the DeskMini lineup of mini PCs by MINISFORUM. Codenamed UM340, this new compact machine has a similar design to its existing siblings and uses the Ryzen 5 3450U processor with integrated Radeon Vega 8 graphics.

The MINISFORUM DeskMini UM340 can be already pre-ordered and shipments are scheduled to start in about a month. These are the available hardware setups available right now and their prices:

  • 8/256 GB DDR4 memory/M.2 2280 SSD storage, US$539
  • 16/256 GB DDR4 memory/M.2 2280 SSD storage, US$559
  • 16/512 GB DDR4 memory/M.2 2280 SSD storage, US$599

In addition to the quad-core Ryzen 5 processor mentioned earlier, the MINISFORUM DeskMini U340 also features Intel Wi-Fi 6 AX200 and Bluetooth 5.1 support, HDMI, DisplayPort and USB-C 4K video output, two RJ45 Gigabit ports, four USB 3.1 ports, and more. The retail package includes a VESA mounting bracket and the screws required to get the job done properly, as well as a HDMI cable, a USB cable and the DC 19 V/3 A power adapter needed to get the UM340 up and running.

The leading Mini PC Manufacturer MINISFORUM announced their first AMD models DMAF5 on July 2020 and gained 1,053 backers on Indiegogo. Today, they launch a line extension model called UM340.

UM340 is equipped with Ryzen™ 5 3450U processor and Radeon™ Vega 8 Graphics with 1200MHz frequency. This is a new version released by AMD in the second quarter of 2020. It has four cores, eight threads, and a basic clock speed of 2.10GHz. The maximum boost clock is up to 3.5GHz, making it suitable for various situations. This CPU adopts AMD SenseMI technology, AMD Zen core architecture, AMD FreeSync™ technology and DirectX®12 technology to bring you faster performance and a more stable gaming experience. 

In memory and storage aspect, UM340 comes with a standard 8GB×2 dual DDR4 RAM and M.2 2280 256GB/512GB PCIe SSD options. A 2.5 inch SATA HDD Slot (SATA 3.0 6.0Gb/s) is handily provided for expansion.

Comes in a size of 128mm*127mm*46mm, UM340 is small and light enough to carry out easily from one room to the other room. 

Audio ports contains HDMI 2.0 , DisplayPort , USB-C Port , 3.5mm Audio Jack port.
