The long-awaited MINISFORUM B550 is finally ready for launch
Although it was supposed to handle a Ryzen 9 5900X, the MINISFORUM B550 will only be able to support up to 65 W TDP processors. Fortunately, the wait is now over and those interested can finally place their pre-orders for no less than eight hardware configurations driven by the Ryzen 7 4700G and Ryzen 7 5700G processors from AMD.
Without further ado, these are the configurations up for pre-order and their prices:
- Ryzen 7 4700G barebone, US$499
- Ryzen 7 5700G barebone, US$599
- Ryzen 7 4700G 16/256 GB, US$619
- Ryzen 7 5700G 16/256 GB, US$699
- Ryzen 7 4700G 16/512 GB, US$639
- Ryzen 7 5700G 16/512 GB, US$729
- Ryzen 7 4700G 32/512 GB, US$719
- Ryzen 7 5700G 32/512 GB, US$809
The motherboard used in the B550 supports up to 64 GB of DDR4 memory and has two M.2 2280 SSD slots. PCIe 4.0, Bluetooth 5.2, and WiFi 6 are also supported.
The retail package includes the expansion dock for the use of an external full-size GPU, but the PSU needed to power the card will have to be purchased separately. Obviously, the mini PC works without an external video card as well. A small hard case for carrying the B550 is also present, alongside a VESA mount, an HDMI cable, power adapter, power cable, as well as a SATA cable.
If everything goes according to the schedule, MINISFORUM should start shipping the orders at the end of May.
