Considered as one of the best SATA SSDs currently available on the market by both the media and home users, the SK Hynix Gold S31 is available on Amazon in 1 TB and 500 GB versions. However, only the 1 TB version is currently discounted and, given the price difference, there's little benefit in buying the smaller variant.

The SK Hynix Gold S31 is engineered using in-house 3D NAND memory, controller, and DRAM cache. It provides sequential speeds of up to 560 MB/s (read) and 525 MB/s (write). The reliability figures are nothing short of impressive, with 5 years of limited warranty, 600 TBW, and 1,500,000 hours MTBF.

The 17 percent discount that will last until Sunday, February 13, takes the 1 TB variant just US$7 higher than the 500 GB one. While the 500 GB SK Hynix Gold S31 has a price tag of US$72.02, its larger sibling — previously priced at US$94.99 — can be acquired for US$79.04. Unfortunately, the deal is only available for US customers. Those from other regions might see completely different prices (when accessing the page from Europe without a VPN, the price tag reads almost US$120).
