Dasung has brought the Dasung Link to Indiegogo, a few months after releasing the device. Initially, the likes of Good e-Reader sold the Dasung Link for US$699.99, although the retailer has since dropped that price to US$479.99. Based on Dasung's Indiegogo listing, the Link's retail price is even lower.
To recap, both Dasung Link models have 6.7-inch E Ink displays that output at 300 PPI. In short, Dasung markets the Link as a smartphone companion device. Theoretically, the Dasung Link should provide a better reading experience than an OLED or IPS-equipped smartphone, as well as a more paperlike feel on which to take notes.
Dasung claims that the Link will eventually start at US$337.87 for the wired version, with a US$25 surcharge for the wireless model. However, Dasung has priced the two Link variants at US$299 and US$330, respectively. In other words, Indiegogo campaign prices are 13% lower for the wired version and 14% lower for its wireless counterpart.
Dasung hopes to start shipping both Link variants in June. Currently, the company is offering both variants in blue and grey finishes, although the colour difference only applies to the device's back panel. However, the wireless model will ship with a 6,800 mAh custom battery bank and a secondary 4,000 mAh one for Indiegogo backers. Please see Dasung's Indiegogo campaign for more information.
