Lenovo has long had the ThinkPad L series in its portfolio as a cheaper alternative to the more expensive ThinkPad T series. The Lenovo ThinkPad L14 Gen 5 is a great office notebook in the 1,000 euro range, which does not have to do without the good features of the ThinkPad models. The Lenovo ThinkPad E16 Gen 2 is an efficient and powerful device for. However, the display and keyboard had to take some cuts.

A large battery and low noise emissions under load are other important criteria in which the 16-inch Ninkear laptop scores.

The Ninkear A16 Pro cuts a decent figure in many areas. The mix of good compotents and inexpensive components is a success.

Tthe Medion S20 notebook aims to get buyers interested with its 17-inch display. For around 1,000 euros, you get an Intel Core Ultra 7 155H with good performance. Medion uses 16 GB DDR5 RAM and a 1 TB SSD here. The sturdy metal case and post-purchase upgrade options are positive features. There are some drawbacks in terms of connectivity options, as there is unfortunately no USB 4 or Thunderbolt.

The Medion S20 delivers solid performance and a high-quality case, making it an ideal companion for home use.

The Lenovo ThinkPad L14 G4 offers solid performance for everyday use thanks to its AMD Ryzen 5 7530U. Unfortunately, Lenovo does not use the latest CPU architecture here, although the Ryzen still delivered rather good benchmark scores in our review. The system impresses with many small positive aspects, such as good upgrade options and repairability and the bright power-efficient display. The Lenovo ThinkPad L14 G4 also has good connectivity and is particularly impressive in terms of price, as it is cheaper than other ThinkPad models. The Lenovo ThinkPad L14 G4 also has good input devices, including a trackpoint, and is a nice package overall.

The rest of the features are also impressive, as the overall rating is good enough to catapult the device straight to first place in our Top 10. The device comes packaged in a robust and stylish unibody case and impresses with its high system performance. A pretty quiet fan is also a benefit, as is the good battery life, which also makes the device suitable for mobile use.

The MateBook D 14 2022 is a good all-rounder for everyday office use. We couldn't spot any major drawbacks in our testing.

The Acer Swift Go 14 in our test configuration is based on an Intel Core i5-1335U, which has 10 cores and 12 threads. With DDR5, the manufacturer also uses the latest RAM standard. The laptop features a good OLED screen with accurate color reproduction in the 16:10 format. And the Acer Swift Go 14 scores extra points in terms of connectivity with two Thunderbolt ports. A disadvantage is its very compact design with few expansion options, as many components are soldered-in.
