High-quality casing with a comfortable keyboard, fast processor, 32 GB RAM, long battery life and a very good IPS display: With the RedmiBook Pro 16, Xiaomi offers one of the best multimedia notebooks if you don't need a dedicated graphics card. For less than 1,000 euros, the overall package is practically unbeatable.

The RedmiBook Pro 16 can be ordered from TradingShenzen for 997 euros including a German version of Windows 11 Pro.

With the RedmiBook Pro 14, Xiaomi offers a fast and affordable 14-inch notebook with Intel Meteor Lake processor and 32 GB RAM. The high-resolution IPS monitor operates at 120 Hz and the 80 Whbattery enables enormous battery runtimes.

Metal casing, many ports, decent display, plenty of power, good keyboard and very long battery life - the Xiaomi RedmiBook Pro 14 offers many good features and there is little to criticize, especially due to the low price.

Lenovo is giving its L-series a major update with the 2024 update. This generation is particularly significant for the AMD variants: Lenovo is finally leaving the Ryzen 5000 platform behind. As a result, users of the Lenovo ThinkPad L14 Gen 5 AMD can now also enjoy USB4.

The L-series is cheap, but that doesn't mean it's bad: If you want to save money, the Lenovo ThinkPad L14 Gen 5 AMD is a good workstation for office applications.

In the tested version, the Lenovo ThinkPad L14 Gen 5 AMD costs around 1,020 euros at our rental provider Campuspoint. Amazon offers a version with Intel Core Ultra for around 1,100 euros.

The Lenovo Yoga 7 2-in-1 14 offers a lot of features for the price, including a modern, AI-enabled processor. It's a mid-range convertible positioned between the more affordable IdeaPad Flex 14 series and the higher-end Yoga 9 14 series.

The 2024 Yoga 7 2-in-1 14 is an excellent offering in its base configuration. However, the competition gets tougher when it is configured with higher-end options.

The configuration we tested is currently available from Lenovo for 968 euros. Higher-end configurations with OLED and Core Ultra H options can cost up to €1,399.

The Lenovo Yoga Slim 6 14APU8 is an almost all-round successful all-round notebook that doesn't have any major flaws if you don't have any particular demands on the GPU performance. The relatively economical Ryzen processor is housed in a stylish and high-quality-looking casing that is equipped with good input devices and (still) sufficient ports.

The Lenovo Yoga Slim 6 14APU8 with Ryzen 5 7540U is a high-quality, compact and pleasantly light all-round notebook.

The second edition of the simple ThinkPad E16 now offers decent graphics performance. And in other respects, the whole thing looks like a ThinkPad from the higher-quality and correspondingly more expensive series - with a few decisive cuts.

An efficient, fast system for quiet working, but with compromises, especially in the display and keyboard.

The Lenovo ThinkPad E16 Gen 2 with Ryzen 5 7535HS, 32 GB RAM and 1 TB SSD that we tested is available at Campuspoint for just under 900 euros. The otherwise equally equipped E16 Gen 2 with Intel Core Ultra 5 125 U costs just under 70 euros more at Playox, for example.

The new Lenovo IdeaPad Pro 5 14 is a 14-inch laptop with a fast AMD Zen4 processor and a high-resolution 2.8K OLED with 120 Hz. It also comes with 32 GB RAM and USB 4.0 for a comparatively low price. The device can also be optionally equipped with the dedicated GeForce RTX 3050 or, for even more money, with Intel's new Meteor Lake processors (Core Ultra 5, 7 or 9) for an additional €200. Our test model is currently only available for pupils and students for less than 1,000 euros.

Lenovo's focus with the new IdeaPad Pro 5 14 is on performance and display quality, and the AMD version with the new Ryzen 7 8845HS in particular offers a very good price-performance ratio.

The test device is available immediately as a campus model without operating system at Campuspoint for 949 euros. Without the campus discount, the model can be ordered directly from Lenovo for 1,169 euros including Windows 11.

The Inspiron 14 7445 2-in-1 has a respectable list of features, including the convertible form factor, the latest generation Zen 4 Ryzen-HS CPU, and an AI-enabled integrated NPU - all for under $1,000. The jump from Ryzen-U to Ryzen-HS is probably the most notable change, especially for multitasking users, casual gamers or graphics workers who can all benefit from the much faster CPU.

The Inspiron 14 7445 2-in-1 is fast, has comfortable inputs and is ready for the AI revolution - all at an affordable price. However, the display quality leaves a lot to be desired.

Dell is now shipping our configuration with the Ryzen 7 CPU, 16 GB RAM and 1 TB SSD for 879 euros. The cheaper configuration with the Ryzen 5 and only half the RAM and storage capacity is priced at 699 euros.

The Ninkear A16 Pro is a surprisingly good laptop from China with AMD Ryzen 7 8845HS, 32 GB RAM and 1 TB SSD for 799 euros. With its good features, it outperforms its sister model, the N16 Pro, and comes close to the Xiaomi RedmiBook Pro 16.

The Ninkear A16 Pro is convincing in many respects and, thanks to the mix of good and inexpensive components, gives the feeling of being even better in the important areas than some higher-priced competitors.

The Ninkear A16 is listed on our rental site Geekmaxi for 799 euros. It is also listed at TomTop for around 808 euros.

Versatile users who are looking for a slim and lightweight notebook with plenty of power could find the IdeaPad Slim 5 14IMH9 could make them happy. For around 900 euros, the 14-inch laptop with a Core Ultra 5 125H, 16 GB LPDDR5x-7467 RAM (not expandable) and a 512 GB NVMe SSD will be a hit with customers. The display is a reflective 60 Hz OLED display in 16:10 format (1,920 x 1,200 pixels) with full DCI-P3 coverage.

Overall, Lenovo does a lot right with the IdeaPad Slim 5 14.
