In 2019, the OnePlus 6T is an old phone which would normally get discontinued now the 7 series is here. That's not the case and those in the US will have to opt for it if the 7 Pro is too expensive. In the UK and elsewhere, it's worth getting the OnePlus 7 which comes in at the same price - in fact, even cheaper since the entry-level 6T is no longer available - but with various upgrades. If you happen to find the 6T somewhere else at a bargain price then it's still an excellent phone with decent design and specs. Just bear in mind that it doesn't have things like waterproofing or a headphone jack.

First, the performance and its speed. It matches or outdoes every other Android device out there in that, although with the newer competitors the difference is barely noticeable. Second, the 6T has a unique mish-mash of features, ranging from some very high-end specs to some that are better described as upper-midrange, and these are all put together in a package that is very affordable by today's standards of flagship smartphone pricing. This would make the phone incredibly attractive once it gets its due price cut upon the release of the OnePlus 7, which by the way will be revealed in less than 2 weeks. Oh, decisions, decisions, decisions.

If you are looking to get 99.5% of a top flagship device for 50% of the price, well the OnePlus 6T is the phone for you. Admittedly, with a full glass design I expected wireless charging to be present, but it is difficult to find any other faults with this phone. It has solid battery life and the cutting edge under display fingerprint reader. But I can’t believe I’m going to say this, but I don’t think I will be buying the OnePlus 6T. My reason for this is that there just isn’t enough of an upgrade for me and my use case scenario with my OnePlus 5T. If OnePlus keeps up to their current release schedule, the OnePlus 7 should arrive in Q2 of 2019 and I think I’m going to hold out till then.

But I'd be hesitant to call the 6T a clear improvement on its almost perfect predecessor. While the dewdrop notch is personally my favorite all-screen execution at the moment (more so than the punch-hole alternatives), I don't share the same excitement for this sluggish fingerprint reader. Had this been responsive, I would have been more forgiving on the removal of the headphone jack.

If you are looking for a flagship level smartphone, the OnePlus 6T is clearly a winner in its own. There is no need to upgrade if you already own a OnePlus 6 unless you want the fancy in-display fingerprint scanner, smaller notch, and a bigger battery. If you can live without the 3.5 mm audio jack, go with the OnePlus 6T, note that you won’t get these features on the phone – wireless charging, microSD card support, and the water-resistant IP rating. If you have a lower budget, the ASUS ZenFone 5Z, and the Xiaomi POCO F1 are worth to check out.

Model: The OnePlus 6T is the company’s latest flagship phone, which should be even more powerful than its predecessor, the One Plus 6. The OnePlus 6T display features a major change, which is it now has an embedded fingerprint scanner. Not only that, the sensor is lightning fast too. The One Plus claims that this is the fastest in-display reader in the industry. However, one of the features removed from the OnePlus 6T is the headphone jack. OnePlus claimed that the removal of headphone jack allowed them to increase the size of the resonance chamber on its internal speakers, as well as adding a few other components. This isn’t the most welcoming change, but it is increasingly common around smartphone these days to have headphone jack removed. As for the display, it has a 6.4-inch AMOLED (2340 x 1080) panel, which is stunning and delivers high display quality. The OnePlus 6T also has a notch on the top of its display. However, the notch is considerably smaller than the One Plus 6. The small notch made the screen feel even more truly edge to edge. OnePlus 6T also has improved brightness on the display for better viewing at outdoor environments. The OnePlus 6T is only available in two colors which are the Midnight Black and Mirror Black, which has the exact same finish as the One Plus 6. The other hardware specifications on the OnePlus 6T includes a Snapdragon 845 processor, 6 - 8 GB of RAM, 128 - 256 GB of storage, and Android 9 Pie available right out of the box, which is the latest Android version.

The new Smart Boost mode is probably the biggest update on the software side. It stores app data in memory to improve cold boot times. With this feature, it should provide much faster app launch times. OnePlus claims user could see an improvement in the range of five to twenty percent. As for the camera, the One Plus 6T sports a dual-lens rear shooter with a 16-megapixel and 20-MP lens and a 20-MP front-facing lens. The main 16 MP shooter has OIS and EIS. One Plus made some software enhancements to boost photo quality. Nightscape is one of the new features and is described as being perfect for capturing low-light urban environments with improved clarity, less noise, more accurate color reproduction and better dynamic range. Also new is Studio Lighting. OnePlus says this feature has been fine-tuned to recognize faces and adjust the lighting accordingly to simulate professional lightning. The OnePlus 6T packs a 3,700 mAh battery, which can easily last through a day. Fast charge is also available to quickly recharge the device. As a conclusion, the One Plus 6T is a high-end smartphone that is totally worth the price. The device is able to do everything very well and able to satisfy even the most demanding users.

It is a small display format for smartphones. You shouldn't be severely defective in vision, and you won't see much detail on the screen and only have a small resolution available. For that, the device should be small and handy, easy to transport.

It is a subsidiary of BBK Electronic Corporation, a giant Chinese electronics group that also includes Oppo, Vivo and Realme. OnePlus specializes in the development and production of smartphones and other electronic devices such as headphones and smartwatches.
