MSI has kindly shared some of the design process behind the creation of the new GT76 Titan gaming beast. The 8-core laptop that features an overclockable Intel i9 K-series desktop processor and Nvidia GeForce RTX 2080 graphics card doesn’t just give a powerful impression from its high-end components. The GT76 manages to combine fierce looks with a graceful aesthetic, which is clearly what MSI’s designers were going for as they have revealed sports cars were used for inspiration.
This can be seen clear as day with the MSI GT76 Titan’s rear side, which features carbon-fiber themed ventilation grilles that have the dual purpose of releasing hot air and adding to the laptop’s visual appeal. The red lighting and the grilles’ design is highly reminiscent of a sports car’s taillight configuration. Of course, there are a number of traits that exotic sports cars and premium gaming laptops have in common in their respective industries: performance, power, speed, looks.
The design information shared by MSI shows just how much thought and effort goes behind creating a laptop like the GT76 Titan; it’s certainly not just about bundling the best components currently available in any old case. MSI has used high-quality aluminum for the GT76’s chassis, which has been crafted in a manner to keep the vertical height of the laptop to a minimum while enhancing the air intake. The manufacturer has also been inspired by the complex mechanics behind vorticity aerodynamics, which combined with the metal mesh on the base of the laptop should help keep the exceptional CPU and GPU fresh for intense performance and gaming.
Like a good sports car, the devil is in the detail. A LaFerrari sports car would look incomplete without the famous “prancing horse” badge on it, and a second-generation Aston Martin Vanquish needs to have its distinctive “blade” style rear lighting design. MSI’s designers have adhered to this design philosophy, so the GT76 Titan bears its embossed MSI Dragon Shield badge with pride and delivers full-color illumination across the keyboard that even reaches to the laptop’s base, creating an otherworldly underglow. MSI has fashioned a GT76 Titan gaming laptop that has the sports car looks and raw power; hopefully it will deliver the desired speed and performance, too.
