Computex 2019 | MSI introduces the all-new WP65 to its workstation lineup
NVIDIA announced the new Quadro P620 workstation GPU at Computex 2019 and MSI looks to be the first OEM to incorporate it in an all-new workstation laptop, the WP65. The WP65 mobile workstation offers up to a 9th gen Intel Core i7 hexa-core processor, NVIDIA Quadro P620 graphics, DDR4-2666 RAM options up to 64 GB, and more.
The WP65 sports a 15.6-inch IPS-level thin bezel display. A true IPS display would have probably helped with much more accurate colors required by professionals but we'll rest that conclusion for our review. Connectivity options include 1x USB 3.2 Gen1 Type-C, 2x USB 3.2 Gen1 Type-A, 1x Ethernet, 1x HDMI 1.4, 1x headphone-out, and 1x mic-in. From the looks of it, MSI is looking to position the WP65 as a more affordable workstation for those who need to use ISV applications such as SolidWorks, AutoCAD, Moldflow Insight, etc. on the go. MSI also bundles a Creator Center app to optimize performance for specific ISV programs.
As with most workstation laptops, build quality is given the required importance with the WP65 is MIL-STD 810G certified to tolerate a wide variety of operating and handling conditions. Here's a look at the specifications of the MSI WP65 —
