IFA 2018 | MSI P65 Creator is the business-oriented version of the GS65 we've been waiting for
Similar to how the Dell business Precision series is a derivative of the consumer XPS series, the MSI business Prestige series is a derivative of the consumer G series of gaming laptops. This means that the OEM simply retrofits an existing chassis with new components in order to market the resulting configuration under a different family name.
The new business-oriented MSI Prestige P65 Creator is the latest such example as it is a silver and white reskin of the existing gaming-oriented GS65. Business users can now receive the same benefits that gamers have been enjoying for over a year including narrower bezels, more portable chassis design, and Coffee Lake-H CPUs up to the hexa-core Core i7-8750H.
To further distinguish the P65 from the GS65, MSI will be throwing in a "Creator Bundle" that will include over $400 USD worth of editing software such as Magix Movie Edit Pro 2018, Fastcut, Paintshop Pro X9, PC Mover Express, Samplitude Music Studio 2017, and more. Both Windows Hello and a fingerprint sensor are integrated onto the system.
Other than the differences mentioned above, most everything else about the P65 is the same as the GS65 including the 82 Wh battery, 4.9 mm thin bezels, 1.88 kg weight, 17.9 mm thickness, and up to the GeForce GTX 1070 Max-Q GPU. Unfortunately, the system will carry no Nvidia Quadro options unlike on the ThinkPad P1 or most Precision models.
The P65 Creator is coming this October for a starting price of 1700 Euros with the entry-level GTX 1050 Ti GPU. The system succeeds the older PE60/PE62/PE63 series and it will be sold alongside the smaller 14-inch PS42.
