MSI Trident X coming in November with Core i9-9900K and GeForce RTX graphics for $2300 USD
The two-year-old MSI Trident 3 mini PC is getting a successor next month called the Trident X. The OEM appropriately timed the announcement with the official reveal of the Intel 9th gen Core series of desktop processors earlier this morning.
The Trident X introduces some enormous improvements over the Trident 3. Both the CPU and GPU will be upgraded to the Core i9-9900K and GeForce RTX 2080 Ti, respectively, and a new cover hinge will allow users to more easily remove the top panel for accessing the CPU, GPU, RAM, and SSD or HDD. Existing Trident 3 owners will know that upgrades can be quite tricky especially for the secondary 2.5-inch SATA III bay.
The boost in performance and serviceability comes at the cost of size. When compared to the 4.7 L Trident 3, the Trident X is a whopping 10 L. MSI is utilizing the extra space for additional fans and RGB lights.
The Trident X is launching in November for a starting price of $2300 USD. Check the official product page below for more details on its specifications and dimensions. The Trident X was revealed at Computex 2018, but MSI was unable to disclose its core specifications until today.
