Reviews for the Sony Xperia 10 VIII
The Sony Xperia 10 VIII stays true to its lineage: compact, lightweight, and featuring extras that have become rare, such as a headphone jack and microSD slot. While little else has changed technically, the most noticeable new feature is its brighter display. In this review, we determine whether this justifies the significant price increase compared to its predecessor.

The Sony Xperia 10 VIII is a tough yet good-looking phone made for daily use. It has a compact 6.1 inch screen that fits easily in one hand, with bright colors and a smooth 120Hz display that makes scrolling and gaming feel fluid. The front glass is strong and scratch-resistant, and the phone is also dust-proof and water-resistant it can survive being in up to 1.5 meters of water for 30 minutes.

Sony’s mid-range lineup is back with the new Xperia 10 VIII, featuring a brighter display and upgraded stereo speakers in the same compact, IP68-rated design. But with identical performance from the Snapdragon chip and an increased price tag, is it actually worth the upgrade?

The Xperia 10 VIII is a difficult phone to judge because, taken entirely on its own, it isn't necessarily a bad device. In fact, we could even call it rather unique.

At £549 / €599, the Xperia 10 VIII keeps some increasingly rare smartphone features: a 3.5mm headphone jack, microSD expansion, front-firing stereo speakers and an uninterrupted 6.1-inch OLED display. But it also keeps last year’s Snapdragon 6 Gen 3, 128GB of storage and essentially the same camera hardware.

Sony’s mid-range line has always carved out its own niche, but the new Xperia 10 Mark 8 takes a surprisingly familiar approach. It has little to show in terms of innovation, but we are glad to see it still holds onto traditional features like expandable storage and a headphone jack. Can subtle display and design tweaks keep it competitive?
